Language education news from Victoria

Language educators in Victoria are now eligible for paraprofessional registration allowing them to teach independently in schools if they wish to. First Languages Australia applauds the Victorian Department of Education, the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association (VAEAI) and the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation Languages (VACL) for investing in Aboriginal language teacher training and enabling paraprofessional registration (senior teacher level) to people wishing to teach their language as a school curriculum area, where that is a community priority.

Below are a selection of photos from the first Victorian Aboriginal Languages Teachers Association Forum, shared with First Languages Australia by VAEAI. Congratulations to all the language educators who attended.
