We have received the below message from Halay Turning Heart of Yuchi Language Project in the US.

Halay has provided a draft application form which can be downloaded here, though the official Request for Proposals has not been published yet and the final application may be updated slightly.

Once the RFP is published the deadline will be short so Halay would like to make contact with prospective groups in advance. If after reading that application form you are interested in applying [please email Halay directly](mailto:This email address is being protected from spambots. Further details are summarised in the email below.

f'as@^ anzAsala, sAngaêsOnûl@? (Good evening, how are you all?)

I am writing from the Yuchi Nation in USA, to inform you of a grant opportunity for Aboriginal and Indigenous language programs. The United Nations has declared 2019 the International Year of Indigenous Languages and the Global Indigenous Languages Caucus is accepting proposals for $10,000 grants to support master-apprentice or similar type programs in which elder speakers meet with youth or young adult learners on a regular basis in immersion learning. If you have a program like this, or are interested in starting one, I can send you the application. Training on master-apprentice and immersion methodology will be included for grantees.

Eligibility: must be a non-profit organization or have a non-profit fiscal sponsor; annual program budget under $300,000; language program focus on elders and youth.

If you are interested in applying, please respond to this email and tell me how you fit the eligibility guidelines. I am nominating programs for this opportunity.

s@nlA k'ayasOTa (thank you) and best wishes in your important language work.
